The Government of the Russian Federation has established quotas for the issuance of permits for temporary residence in the Russian Federation. According to the decree, in 2015 the Russian Federation will be able to receive 126,055 thousand migrants.
The size of the quota for 2015 was established on the basis of proposals from the executive authorities of the constituent entities of the Federation, prepared taking into account the migration situation and economic situation in each specific region. So, the quota of Moscow was 2 thousand permits, and the Crimean Federal District – 1.9 thousand permits.
The initiative was opposed by trade unions, fearing that no one would be able to control the number of labor migrants entering the country.
